Edelman Financial Engines Acquires Cahill Wealth Management

Edelman Financial Engines (EFE), the nation’s leading independent wealth planning and workplace investment advisory firm, has announced its first acquisition of 2025: Cahill Wealth Management, a Michigan-based RIA managing approximately $426 million in client assets.

This strategic move enhances EFE’s regional footprint in the Midwest while also expanding its industry expertise in serving pharmaceutical and life sciences executives.

Expanding Expertise and Reach

Founded in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Cahill Wealth Management specializes in strategic financial, benefits, and tax planning for executives in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. With 125 high-net-worth clients and a niche focus, Cahill brings deep sectoral insight that EFE believes can scale into broader national opportunities.

“Cahill Wealth Management is an outstanding addition to our team,” said Jay Shah, CEO of EFE. “Investor needs are changing rapidly, and we continue to elevate our services by adding exceptional RIAs who align with our mission.”

Strategic Synergy with EFE’s Workplace Division

This acquisition dovetails with EFE’s established strength in workplace financial services. Cahill’s deep relationships in the life sciences sector will enhance EFE’s ability to guide corporate executives not just on retirement plans but on comprehensive wealth strategies.

“We’re focused on partners who align with our principles and enhance our capabilities,” added Suzanne van Staveren, EFE’s EVP, CFO, and COO. “This move supports our growth in the Midwest and strengthens our expertise in advising life sciences professionals.”

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

For Ryan Cahill, founder and president of Cahill Wealth Management, the partnership reflects a natural alignment:

“After careful due diligence, I chose EFE for their strong leadership, shared values, and robust resources that will benefit both our clients and our team.”

Under the acquisition terms, Cahill Wealth Management will be fully integrated and operate under the Edelman Financial Engines brand, providing clients with access to broader resources and technology.

Looking Ahead: Growth Through Alignment

This acquisition marks the first of what EFE signals will be multiple strategic partnerships in 2025. The firm is actively pursuing regional RIAs that share its vision of client-centric service and innovative financial planning.
