VT Markets Launches ‘Finance Forward’ to Boost Financial Literacy Across Southeast Asia

Financial literacy is increasingly becoming a priority for businesses alongside regulators and educators, and online trading platform VT Markets is the latest company to invest in closing the knowledge gap.

The global brokerage has launched Finance Forward, a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative designed to equip young adults with practical financial skills, including budgeting, saving, and informed financial decision-making. The program will debut across Southeast Asia before expanding into additional global markets.

Rather than focusing on investing or trading education, the initiative emphasizes foundational money management skills that many young people often leave school without.

Tackling the Financial Knowledge Gap

According to VT Markets, the program was created to address the disconnect between traditional education and the practical financial knowledge needed in everyday life.

Working alongside local schools and community organizations, the company will deliver educational workshops covering key personal finance topics such as budgeting, strategic saving, and responsible financial planning.

The initiative is built on the belief that developing financial literacy early can improve long-term financial independence and help young adults make more informed economic decisions throughout their lives.

While financial education has become a growing focus for governments and nonprofit organizations, private-sector participation has also accelerated as financial institutions recognize that better-informed consumers contribute to healthier financial ecosystems.

A Long-Term CSR Strategy

VT Markets says Finance Forward represents more than a one-time educational campaign.

The company plans to gradually expand the initiative beyond Southeast Asia, making it part of a broader global commitment to improving financial literacy in the communities where it operates.

Dandelyn Koh, Global Head of Marketing at VT Markets, said the company sees firsthand the gap between financial knowledge taught in classrooms and the practical skills young adults need after entering the workforce.

According to Koh, learning how to budget, save, and make sound financial decisions early can have a compounding effect over time, leading to stronger financial independence in later life.

That philosophy aligns with growing evidence that financial habits established during adolescence and early adulthood often influence long-term saving behavior, debt management, and investment decisions.

Why Financial Literacy Matters More Than Ever

The launch comes at a time when financial literacy is attracting renewed global attention.

Rising living costs, expanding access to digital financial services, and the rapid growth of fintech platforms have made personal financial management increasingly complex. At the same time, younger generations are navigating student debt, digital payments, online investing, cryptocurrencies, and buy-now-pay-later services earlier than previous generations.

As a result, financial education is evolving beyond basic budgeting to include understanding financial products, managing risk, and making informed long-term financial decisions.

For financial services firms, supporting financial literacy has also become an important component of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and corporate social responsibility strategies.

Why It Matters

While many fintech companies focus on developing new financial products, initiatives like Finance Forward highlight another side of financial innovation: education.

By partnering with schools and community organizations, VT Markets is investing in the foundational knowledge that enables individuals to use financial products responsibly and build long-term financial resilience.

As financial services become increasingly digital and accessible, improving financial literacy may prove just as important as expanding access itself. For companies operating in global financial markets, empowering future generations with practical money management skills is becoming both a social responsibility and a strategic investment in healthier financial ecosystems.
