Corporate payouts platform Onbe has tapped Kevin Ryan as its new Chief Financial Officer, signaling a strategic push to scale its financial operations and accelerate its growth trajectory. Reporting to CEO Bala Janakiraman, Ryan will oversee FP&A, Accounting, and Treasury functions while collaborating with the executive team to execute Onbe’s long-term vision.
Ryan brings more than 24 years of finance leadership in high-growth and fintech-focused environments. Before joining Onbe, he served as CFO at World Investment Advisors (formerly Pensionmark), where he drove operational efficiency and strategic growth initiatives. Earlier, at Xactus, a fintech specializing in verification solutions for mortgages and financial services, Ryan integrated seven acquisitions, implemented a data warehouse to improve decision-making, and boosted EBITDA—even amid a challenging mortgage market.
“Kevin joins Onbe at a defining moment for the company, as more businesses look to modernize and streamline their disbursement strategies,” said CEO Bala Janakiraman. “His deep experience driving transformation for financial services and fintech organizations will be invaluable as we enter our next era of growth.”
Ryan is no stranger to guiding firms through complex transformations. At Keane (now part of Sovos), he led the strategic advancement of the company’s unclaimed property compliance platform, strengthening market leadership and ultimately supporting its sale in 2021.
“Onbe is redefining the future of payouts, and I’m excited to be part of what they are building,” Ryan said. “I’m looking forward to applying my experience to continue strengthening the organization’s foundation and driving growth as fintech and payments evolve.”
With fintech payments and corporate disbursements evolving rapidly, Onbe’s appointment of a seasoned financial executive reflects an industry trend: companies are seeking leaders who can combine strategic vision, operational rigor, and fintech know-how to stay competitive. Ryan’s track record of managing acquisitions, implementing data-driven financial strategies, and enhancing shareholder value positions Onbe to capitalize on the growing demand for modernized payout solutions.
As Onbe looks to expand its footprint, particularly amid rising interest in automated, transparent, and efficient payouts, Ryan’s arrival could accelerate the company’s push into enterprise-scale fintech solutions, potentially rivaling other emerging corporate payout platforms. The appointment underscores the company’s ambition to stay ahead in a market increasingly defined by speed, reliability, and innovation in financial operations.
