BlackRock’s Aladdin Wealth Adds Gen AI “Auto Commentary” to Boost Advisor Insights

BlackRock is pushing the AI frontier in wealth management. Its Aladdin Wealth™ platform is introducing Gen AI-driven features, including a new “Auto Commentary” tool that helps financial advisors turn complex portfolio analytics into concise, personalized insights for clients.

The feature combines three core inputs: Aladdin Wealth’s robust data and risk analytics, a firm’s CIO market outlook, and client-specific portfolio holdings and investment preferences. Using Gen AI, Auto Commentary analyzes hundreds of data points and distills them into narratives designed to enhance client conversations, making financial advisors’ engagements both more meaningful and more efficient.

“The opportunity to transform wealth management through technology has never been greater,” said Ted Stratigos, Global Head of Aladdin Wealth Tech. “We’re harnessing the power of AI to simplify complex workflows and enhance how financial advisors connect with clients, driving greater efficiency and deepening engagement. AI is a catalyst for meaningful innovation.”

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management will be the first to implement Auto Commentary via its proprietary Portfolio Risk Platform, which integrates Aladdin’s risk analytics with Morgan Stanley’s own data. Starting in October, advisors will be able to leverage the tool to streamline research and focus on delivering actionable insights rather than manually sifting through analytics.

“Auto Commentary leverages AI to integrate hundreds of analytics and firm-level market insights into a cohesive narrative,” said Chris Scott-Hansen, Managing Director and Head of Consulting Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. “By automating labor-intensive research, we enable our financial advisors to concentrate on what truly matters—building trust through helping clients navigate complex market dynamics.”

The rollout underscores a growing trend in wealth management: using AI not only to process data but to craft actionable, client-specific advice at scale. As advisory firms face increasing pressure to differentiate services, tools like Auto Commentary could redefine how technology augments human judgment in financial services.
