ČSOB Taps Camunda to Streamline Banking Processes and Drive Digital Transformation

ČSOB Adopts Camunda to Automate and Orchestrate Banking Processes

Camunda, a leader in enterprise process automation, has been selected by Československá obchodní banka (ČSOB) as the bank’s new orchestration and automation platform. The move is a key milestone in ČSOB’s group-wide modernization strategy, designed to simplify product offerings, streamline operations, and reduce system complexity across channels.

The decision followed a rigorous RFP process involving over 40 internal stakeholders, with Camunda emerging as the preferred platform for its scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.

“Camunda helps us simplify our complex process landscape and enables faster, more scalable operations that directly enhance customer experience,” said Tomas Sobotka, executive director at ČSOB. “This transformation strengthens our readiness for future innovation while ensuring operational excellence across all channels.”

Driving Efficiency, Agility, and Customer Experience

With Camunda’s platform, ČSOB expects to deliver tangible operational and customer benefits:

  • Reduce duplication and costs: Streamline system architecture to cut infrastructure expenses.
  • Accelerate time-to-market: Enable product parameterization rather than relying on custom coding.
  • Enable integrations: Prepare for third-party and beyond-banking ecosystem connectivity.
  • Unify processes: Create seamless operations across digital and branch banking channels.

The platform is expected to significantly enhance ČSOB’s ability to offer a consistent, efficient, and personalized banking experience for its customers.

Frederic Meier, senior VP of sales at Camunda, added: “We’re proud to support ČSOB on its journey toward process excellence in core banking. Our platform empowers organizations to overcome complexity, accelerate digital transformation, and build more resilient operations.”

The adoption of Camunda reflects a broader trend in banking: as institutions face rising pressure for operational efficiency and rapid digital innovation, orchestration and automation platforms are increasingly critical to reduce complexity, improve agility, and deliver superior customer experiences. For ČSOB, this implementation positions the bank to compete more effectively in the fast-evolving Czech and Central European financial markets.
