My Home Pathway (MHP) aims to make homeownership accessible, recognizing it as a key to building generational wealth and achieving financial freedom. Annually, five million mortgage applications are denied, with higher rates for Black and Hispanic individuals or millennials burdened by student debt. This exacerbates a persistent wealth gap, particularly the 20-30 point homeownership rate disparity between white and underserved populations. MHP was founded to transform this landscape.
As the CEO and Founder of My Home Pathway, my mission is shaped by over 15 years as a risk management executive in financial services. I previously held roles in Risk Management, Operations, Consulting, Bank Supervision, and Corporate Sales at institutions like Goldman Sachs, E&Y, AIG, Bank of Montreal, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. My expertise includes identifying and mitigating risks across financial products, with a focus on integrating risk awareness into business strategy and corporate governance for banks, startups, and insurance companies. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and International Business from Penn State University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from New York University.
MHP’s core mission is to empower individuals to achieve homeownership, overcoming financial barriers like income, credit score, or student loan debt. We aim to convert mortgage rejections—70% of which are fixable—into new revenue for lenders and wealth-building opportunities for consumers.
Redefining Mortgage Approval and Challenging Biases
MHP redefines mortgage approval via a technology-driven re-acquisition and nurture program, transforming “unqualified” consumers to “approved”. This addresses systemic barriers through personalized mortgage readiness assistance. Our “Home Nurture Program” is a pilot under the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) Project REACh, a collaborative effort with Wells Fargo, TransUnion, LISC NYC, the Milken Institute, and the Prudential Foundation. Project REACh aims to reduce financial barriers for full, equal, and fair economic participation.
Within this program, TransUnion’s Intelligent Invitation to Apply (iITA) solution identifies credit-informed audiences in specific underserved communities. MHP engages these consumers, providing personalized guidance to help them become mortgage-ready. This targeted approach creates equitable homeownership pathways and wealth-building for historically underserved populations. The pilot’s goal is to achieve 1,000 mortgage-ready consumers for new or refinanced mortgages across target metro cities like Camden/Philly, Chicago, Queens (NYC), Newark, and Detroit, specifically focusing on underserved prospective homeowners.
Fintech as a Bridge: Data, Education, and AI for Financial Health
MHP’s fintech solutions bridge financial literacy and wealth-building, transforming high-risk credit profiles into pathways for financial health. Our platform provides a “Home Buyer Readiness Report”, an honest assessment of a consumer’s financial situation. MHP then guides users through personalized recommendations and a “Pathway Roadmap”, explaining why steps are necessary to foster genuine financial literacy. This personalized guidance is ongoing instructions and support provided directly through the platform.
Our unique “risk transformation program” leverages technology to improve the risk profiles of consumers who might not initially be eligible for a mortgage based on partner underwriting criteria. This involves continuous data collection and monitoring, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as credit score improvement, Debt-to-Income (DTI) reduction, and savings growth. For instance, in our pilot with the Project REACh program, one success factor includes improving participant credit scores by 30 points within 6 months and getting users mortgage eligible within 9 months
We are distinct from many competitors that primarily offer credit scores or recommendations; My Home Pathway provides a full mortgage qualification pathway, a home buyer readiness assessment, and an opt-in for those who faced mortgage rejection or are considered high risk before even applying. The service is entirely free for the consumer, with no fees ever, and a soft credit check ensures no impact on their credit score. Our revenue comes from helping lenders acquire these newly qualified customers, turning a previously lost opportunity into a new revenue stream. The result is an integrated loan pre-approval process that gets consumers ready to cross the finish line into homeownership. Through this comprehensive approach, My Home Pathway is expanding access to credit and capital, bridging the gap between financial knowledge and wealth creation through home equity.
