Visa is doubling down on cybersecurity—and wants to bring its clients with it. The global payments giant today launched its Visa Cybersecurity Advisory Practice, a major initiative aimed at helping businesses—from corner stores to global enterprises—navigate the growing complexity of cyber threats in the payments ecosystem.
The Edinburgh-based cybersecurity firm, known for its patented mobile app and API security platform, announced the new funding round led by Maven Capital Partners’ Investment Fund for Scotland. Also joining were Souter Investments, Lanza techVentures, and Scottish Enterprise. The fresh capital will expand Approov’s R&D team and accelerate innovation in securing mobile app communications against fraud, tampering, and AI-powered cyberattacks.
At the SIFMA Ops 2025 conference, the message was loud and clear: operational and cyber resilience is no longer optional it’s critical. As cyberattacks grow in frequency and sophistication, financial institutions are being forced to rethink their preparedness strategies and bolster defense mechanisms to secure their operations and data.
