Tabs Raises Series B to Automate Billing and Revenue Workflows with AI

Tabs Targets Finance’s “Forgotten Workflows” with AI Automation

Despite waves of fintech innovation in payments, spend management, and payroll, revenue workflows—billing, collections, revenue recognition, reporting—remain stuck in the past. Finance teams still rely on manual ERP processes, spreadsheets, and a patchwork of point solutions. Studies indicate these teams spend up to 50% of their time on billing and collections, with invoice error rates as high as 20%, resulting in delayed cash flow, lost revenue, and hours wasted reconciling fragmented data.

Enter Tabs, a startup bringing AI-native automation to the contract-to-cash cycle. The company automates invoicing, collections, revenue recognition, and month-end close, letting finance teams reclaim time and accelerate cash flow across complex enterprise environments.

AI Agents and Integrations Go Live

Tabs’ newly launched capabilities include:

  • Billing Agents and Integrations: Automatically reads contracts, generates invoices, and syncs with ERP and CRM systems.
  • Collections Agents and Automations: Tracks due dates, matches payments, and reconciles transactions without manual intervention.

Over the past year, Tabs has expanded to 200+ customers, including Cursor and Statsig, automating over $500 million in annual invoice volume, achieving 5X ARR growth, and helping clients automate more than 80% of previously manual billing and invoicing tasks.

A Growing Need for Revenue Automation

The market urgency for automation is mounting. Modern pricing models—including usage-based and hybrid contracts—complicate revenue recognition, while 75% of accountants approach retirement and new CPAs are declining 30% over the past decade. Instead of adding headcount, CFOs are turning to AI to streamline billing, collections, and revenue workflows.

“Revenue in is the hardest and most valuable workflow in the enterprise, yet finance teams are still stuck with legacy ERPs,” said Ali Hussain, CEO and co-founder of Tabs. “Tabs is bringing modern AI agents to the CFO’s office, starting with billing, complex contract management, and collections, so companies can collect cash faster and reduce time spent on manual work.”

Series B Funding Accelerates Growth

Recognizing Tabs’ early traction, Lightspeed Venture Partners returned as a lead investor for the Series B. “Tabs is fundamentally changing how finance teams work, eliminating manual processes that have plagued revenue workflows for decades,” said Justin Overdorff, Partner at Lightspeed. “The team has combined deep finance expertise with purpose-built AI agents for revenue processing and tracking, and rapid customer adoption validates just how ready the market is for this transformation.”

Tabs plans to use the funding to accelerate its agent roadmap, expand its New York–based engineering and AI research teams, and scale adoption across fast-growing technology and B2B companies.

As finance teams grapple with staffing challenges, complex pricing models, and rising transaction volumes—$125 trillion in global B2B transactions annually—AI-driven revenue automation platforms like Tabs are emerging as essential tools for modern CFOs.
