MoMo Strengthens Security Against Deepfakes with iProov’s Dynamic Liveness

MoMo Boosts Security Against AI Fraud with iProov

Vietnam’s fintech giant MoMo is taking a major step in combating sophisticated digital identity threats by integrating iProov’s Dynamic Liveness technology. The deployment aims to secure tens of millions of users, ensuring that every transaction and interaction is verified as genuinely human.

The move comes amid a global rise in AI-driven fraud and follows the State Bank of Vietnam’s Decision 2345, which mandates stronger biometric authentication for online financial transactions. By proactively adopting iProov’s solution, MoMo not only meets regulatory requirements but also reinforces its core promise of trust and security for users.

iProov’s Dynamic Liveness leverages patented Flashmark™ technology to verify that the person on the screen is real, present in the moment, and not a photo, video, or AI-generated deepfake. In high-risk sectors like financial services, this level of identity assurance is critical for preventing unauthorized access, fraudulent transactions, and the erosion of user confidence.

Pham Kim Long, Head of AI & Big Data at MoMo, emphasized the importance of trust in fintech: “As digital threats evolve, so must our defenses. Integrating iProov’s industry-leading technology provides an unparalleled layer of security, combating fraud like deepfakes and ensuring our users feel safe and confident in every interaction with MoMo.”

iProov CEO Andrew Bud highlighted the broader implications for financial inclusion: “Protecting against sophisticated fraud is essential for enhancing user engagement and expanding digital financial services. Our Dynamic Liveness technology provides the high level of identity assurance needed to build that trusted ecosystem, enabling MoMo to continue its mission of financial inclusion safely and securely.”

As fintech adoption accelerates across Southeast Asia, the partnership between MoMo and iProov underscores a growing industry trend: AI-driven identity verification is no longer optional—it’s essential for safeguarding user trust and sustaining digital financial growth.
