MoMo Boosts Security with iProov’s AI-Proof Biometric Authentication

Vietnam’s fintech giant MoMo is doubling down on security, deploying iProov’s Dynamic Liveness biometric solution to protect tens of millions of users from increasingly sophisticated digital threats.
The integration comes as financial services worldwide grapple with AI-driven fraud, including deepfakes and digital injection attacks. By adding iProov’s science-based verification, MoMo ensures every user interaction is genuinely human—a critical step as generative AI fuels new types of identity fraud.
“The financial ecosystem is evolving faster than ever, and fraudsters are keeping pace,” said a MoMo spokesperson. “Dynamic Liveness lets us verify users remotely without compromising trust or convenience.”
The move also aligns with Vietnam’s State Bank regulations. Decision 2345, issued recently, mandates stronger biometric authentication for online transactions. MoMo’s proactive adoption of iProov technology positions it ahead of the curve, safeguarding users while meeting regulatory standards.
Dynamic Liveness works by analyzing subtle facial movements and other biometric signals in real time, distinguishing live humans from AI-generated fakes. This level of verification is particularly crucial for fintech platforms handling sensitive financial transactions at scale.
Industry observers note that while biometric authentication is becoming standard, not all solutions are built to counter AI-generated attacks. MoMo’s approach may set a benchmark for regional fintech players looking to maintain user trust while staying compliant.
As fintech continues to grow across Southeast Asia, integrating advanced biometric verification could become a differentiator for platforms competing for market share. MoMo’s investment underscores a broader trend: in an era of AI-fueled fraud, trust and security are not just features—they’re strategic advantages.
