Sage and Findity Expand Expense Management to Spain

  • October 26, 2026

Sage and Findity have expanded their embedded expense management partnership into Spain, launching Sage Expenses for Sage 50 customers after an earlier rollout in the UK. The product integrates expense workflows into Sage’s accounting software, automating processes from mobile receipt capture through expense posting and reimbursement. The launch targets small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) seeking to reduce manual administration and connect employee spending more directly with accounting operations. Spain is the second market where the companies have launched the solution together, with further European expansion planned, according to the announcement.

Sage and Findity Expand Embedded Expense Management to Spain

Sage and Findity are expanding their expense management partnership into Spain, bringing Sage Expenses to customers using Sage 50 accounting software. The launch follows the product’s introduction in the UK and marks the second market where the companies have jointly rolled out the embedded expense management solution.

The product is designed to automate expense workflows for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), covering mobile receipt capture, expense processing, accounting posting and reimbursement. By embedding these functions within the accounting software businesses already use, the companies aim to reduce manual administration and simplify the movement of expense data into financial records.

The expansion reflects a broader push to integrate routine financial operations directly into accounting platforms, particularly for smaller businesses that may lack dedicated finance teams or the resources to manage disconnected software systems.

Embedding expense workflows in accounting software

Expense management often involves multiple steps: employees capture receipts, submit claims, finance teams review transactions, and approved expenses are recorded and reimbursed. When these activities rely on manual entry or separate tools, businesses can face duplicated work, delayed processing and inconsistent records.

Sage Expenses is designed to connect these stages within the Sage 50 environment. According to the announcement, the product automates the expense process from mobile receipt capture through posting and reimbursement, reducing the need for businesses to manage each step separately.

The embedded approach is significant because expense management is closely tied to accounting accuracy and financial visibility. Connecting expense information with accounting software can reduce the need to transfer data between systems and help businesses maintain a more consistent record of spending.

However, the announcement does not provide quantified results for processing-time reductions, administrative savings, reimbursement speed or error rates. Those measures will be important in determining the product’s practical impact for Spanish SMBs.

Findity and Sage extend their partnership

Findity provides embedded expense management technology, while Sage develops accounting, finance, HR and payroll software for small and medium-sized businesses. Their partnership combines Findity’s expense management capabilities with Sage’s established accounting software ecosystem.

Findity CEO Patrick Olsson said the collaboration is intended to reduce the time and resources small businesses spend on expense administration. José Luis Martín Zabala, Managing Director of Sage Iberia, said the integration is designed to modernize financial workflows by bringing expense management into software customers already use.

For software providers, embedding capabilities can make an existing product more useful without requiring customers to adopt a separate application and manage another vendor relationship. For SMBs, a more integrated workflow may simplify implementation and day-to-day administration, although the benefits will depend on how well the solution fits each company’s expense policies and accounting processes.

The announcement does not detail pricing, supported reimbursement methods, integration architecture or the precise availability schedule for all Sage 50 customers in Spain.

Spain becomes the second launch market

The Spanish rollout follows the UK launch, with additional European markets in preparation, according to the companies. The expansion suggests a phased approach to bringing the product to Sage customers across different countries.

Expanding across markets can require more than translating an interface. Expense workflows may need to accommodate local accounting practices, tax requirements, reimbursement policies and business processes. The companies have not disclosed which markets will follow Spain or when further launches are expected.

For Sage, the partnership extends the capabilities available to its accounting customers. For Findity, it creates an opportunity to distribute embedded expense management through an established software provider rather than relying exclusively on standalone product adoption.

Automation and the SMB finance stack

The launch illustrates how accounting software is increasingly being positioned as a central workspace for connected financial operations. Expense management is a natural extension because employee spending directly affects bookkeeping, cash flow visibility and reimbursement administration.

Embedding these workflows could be especially useful for smaller businesses that need better process control without adding substantial operational complexity. Yet automation alone does not guarantee efficiency: businesses still need appropriate approval rules, accurate receipt data, clear expense policies and reliable accounting records.

Sage Expenses enters the Spanish market with a clear objective—simplifying expense processing for Sage 50 customers. The next indicators of its success will be customer adoption, measurable reductions in manual work and the pace of expansion into other European markets.

Market Landscape

  • Embedded financial workflows: Accounting software providers are incorporating adjacent finance functions to reduce reliance on separate tools.
  • SMB automation: Expense processing remains a practical target for automation because it involves repetitive receipt capture, data entry, review and reimbursement tasks.
  • Accounting integration: Connecting expense data to accounting records can help reduce duplicate entry and improve consistency.
  • Partner-led distribution: Findity gains access to Sage’s existing customer ecosystem, while Sage expands the functionality available to its accounting customers.
  • European expansion: Spain follows the UK launch, but the companies have not announced a timetable for additional markets.

The announcement confirms the product rollout but does not provide independent data on productivity gains, customer adoption or cost savings.
