payabl. Renews BEONIX Deal to Power Festival Payments

European fintech provider payabl. has renewed its partnership with Kaspinas Group, extending its role as the Official Payments Partner of BEONIX Festival in Cyprus. The arrangement brings together online checkout, payment links, in-person card and contactless acceptance, and centralized payment management as organizers prepare to handle an expected 25,000 visitors during BEONIX 2026.

The renewed partnership illustrates how payment infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important part of large-scale event operations. For festivals and venues, the payment challenge extends well beyond selling tickets online. Organizers also need to process transactions across bars, merchandise and vendor locations while maintaining visibility over activity occurring through different channels.

BEONIX 2026 will take place from September 25 to 27 at ETKO in Limassol, bringing 68 artists across four stages. The event is expected to attract approximately 25,000 visitors over three days.

Under the renewed agreement, payabl. will provide payment services for BEONIX and other events held at ETKO throughout the year. The companies previously collaborated on payment processing, with the latest arrangement extending payabl.’s role across both digital ticketing and physical venue transactions.

For online purchases, BEONIX and ETKO tickets are processed through payabl. checkout. The companies also use payment links for ticket upgrades and special reservations, providing another way to collect payments without requiring customers to complete the transaction through a conventional checkout flow.

The physical component is handled through payabl. in-store, which supports card and contactless transactions at bars, ticket points and vendor stands. That infrastructure becomes particularly important during peak periods, when thousands of customers can attempt transactions within a relatively short window.

One Payment Layer Across Event Operations

One of the more significant elements of the partnership is the integration of these payment channels through payabl.one.

Rather than treating online ticket sales and physical point-of-sale transactions as separate payment operations, centralized payment management can give event operators a broader view of transaction activity. For a group managing both a major festival and a wider events calendar, that visibility can simplify reconciliation and financial oversight.

The model reflects a wider evolution in digital payments platforms. Businesses increasingly expect payment providers to support multiple acceptance points rather than offering a single card-processing service. E-commerce checkout, payment links, point-of-sale terminals and centralized reporting are becoming interconnected components of a broader merchant infrastructure.

This is particularly relevant to event businesses because their transaction patterns can be highly variable. A festival may generate a significant volume of payments over a concentrated period, while individual vendors can have different transaction requirements. Payment infrastructure therefore needs to support both scale and operational flexibility.

The arrangement also illustrates the growing convergence between embedded finance and merchant technology. Payment functionality is becoming embedded directly into ticketing, reservation and venue workflows rather than operating as a separate back-office function.

Contactless Payments and the Festival Economy

Contactless acceptance is another important part of the equation. Visitors increasingly expect to use cards and contactless-enabled devices for everyday purchases, including food, beverages and merchandise at large events.

For organizers, digital payments can reduce reliance on cash handling while creating electronic transaction records across venue locations. But the technology also introduces requirements around connectivity, terminal reliability, fraud controls and transaction processing capacity.

The payabl. announcement does not provide transaction-volume or authorization-rate figures from previous BEONIX events, so the practical performance of the system during peak periods cannot be independently assessed from the available information.

The partnership nevertheless highlights an important characteristic of the modern festival economy: payments are no longer limited to the ticket purchase. A visitor may interact with a merchant several times before and during an event, creating multiple payment touchpoints that organizers need to manage efficiently.

Competition Moves Toward Integrated Payment Infrastructure

The competitive payments landscape includes traditional banks, global card networks and fintech providers offering increasingly integrated merchant services. Companies such as Mastercard and Visa provide the underlying card-network infrastructure, while fintechs compete through checkout tools, payment orchestration, point-of-sale technology, merchant acquiring and data services.

For smaller and mid-sized event operators, working with a single provider across online and offline transactions can potentially reduce operational complexity. The trade-off is that merchants must assess pricing, geographic coverage, settlement arrangements, security and the provider’s ability to handle high-volume periods.

payabl.’s strategy is built around offering several payment capabilities within one ecosystem. Its continued relationship with Kaspinas Group gives the company a real-world event environment in which those services operate across ticketing, reservations and physical purchases.

The partnership is also strategically relevant to Cyprus, where payabl. is headquartered. Local merchant relationships can provide fintech companies with a base for developing payment infrastructure while expanding into broader European markets.

For Kaspinas Group, the immediate benefit is operational consistency across BEONIX and ETKO. For payabl., the partnership provides another example of how integrated payment infrastructure can serve businesses with complex, multi-channel transaction requirements.

As digital payments continue moving toward unified merchant platforms, the future competition may be less about simply accepting cards and more about connecting every payment touchpoint—from online checkout to the venue terminal—into one operational system.

Market Landscape

The merchant payments market is shifting toward omnichannel payment infrastructure, where online checkout, payment links, point-of-sale acceptance and reporting operate within a connected ecosystem.

Event operators are an especially relevant use case because transaction volumes can spike dramatically over short periods. Reliability, contactless acceptance, fraud prevention and centralized reconciliation all become important alongside basic payment acceptance.

payabl.’s renewed BEONIX partnership demonstrates this model in practice, connecting digital ticketing with in-person payments and centralized transaction visibility.
