Visa and BVNK, a leading provider of stablecoin infrastructure, have announced a strategic partnership that will integrate BVNK’s technology into Visa Direct, the $1.7 trillion money movement network. The collaboration will allow select business clients to fund payouts with stablecoins and enable recipients to receive payments directly in digital dollars.
BVNK, which already processes over $30 billion in stablecoin transactions annually, will provide the backbone for Visa Direct’s stablecoin services in approved markets. The rollout is initially focused on regions with high demand for digital asset payments, with global expansion expected as adoption grows.
“This partnership is unlocking a new layer of payment innovation where stablecoins will be embedded directly into the world’s most trusted payments network,” said BVNK CEO Jesse Hemson-Struthers. “It gives businesses and end consumers more choice in how and when they receive and send funds, accelerating the adoption of stablecoin technology at scale.”
Visa has been steadily investing in blockchain-based payment solutions, with Visa Ventures investing in BVNK in May 2025. The integration of BVNK’s infrastructure into Visa Direct represents a significant step in Visa’s strategy to modernize money movement and offer faster, more flexible payment options—even during weekends, holidays, and outside traditional banking hours.
“At Visa, we have a long history of embracing new technologies that modernize money movement,” said Mark Nelsen, Global Head of Product, Commercial & Money Movement Solutions at Visa. “Stablecoins are an exciting opportunity for global payments, with enormous potential to reduce friction and expand access. BVNK shares this vision, and that’s why we’re partnering with them to provide reliable infrastructure for Visa Direct stablecoin pilots.”
The move highlights the growing trend of integrating stablecoins into mainstream payment networks, offering businesses and consumers an alternative to traditional fiat payouts. As digital dollar adoption grows, partnerships like Visa and BVNK’s signal the next phase of real-world stablecoin use, bridging the gap between blockchain innovation and everyday payments.
